POSITION SUMMARY:

Highly responsible technical work in planning, developing, implementing, and organizing the Technology Operations Team. Develop, lead, and motivate a team of professionals to deliver excellent support with outstanding customer service, satisfaction, and timeliness. Provides support of information technology for the Clerk of Courts, Tax Collector, Supervisor of Elections, and Board of County Commissioners. Provides hardware and software support for the County system. Manages, plans, directs, and supervises the jobs of the Technology Operations Team.

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer

Leadership and Team Management

  • Oversee and manage the Technology Operations team.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Strategic Planning and Implementation

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and drive initiatives to enhance service delivery
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of operational strategies and adjust as needed.

Service Management

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve service performance.

Technology and Systems Management

  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and support of business applications, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Develop and manage the technology operations budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support operational priorities and project initiatives.

Customer Focus

  • Maintain a customer-centric approach in all aspects of technology operations.
  • Gather and act on feedback from end-users to improve service delivery and user satisfaction.
  • Ensure the Technology Operations Team consistently delivers exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, staff, and external partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support organizational objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the capabilities and requirements of information technology equipment.

Knowledge of data entry methods and operation of data entry equipment.

  • Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and guidelines and the application of such departmental business processes and applications.
  • Knowledge of modern management practices and techniques
  • Ability to analyze and develop long-range and short-range plans, goals, and objectives for the provision of information technology services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outside vendors, user agencies and the public.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years direct work experience with a comparable in size and work volume organization or a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
  • Local government or public sector experience.
  • Vendor Relations – experience in managing vendor relations, evaluating technology solutions, and negotiating contracts.
  • Data analysis – proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to technology initiatives. Familiarity with tools like Excel, SQL, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Administrative skills – strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain documentation and records.
  • Communication – excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for engaging with stakeholders, presenting reports, and facilitating meetings.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time.
  • Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
  • Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
  • Walking.
  • Standing.
  • Traverse stairs (if elevator is not accessible). Sit for extended periods of time and lift and carry objects more than 10 pounds.
  • Utilize stepladder (filing out of normal reach).
  • Bend.
  • Stoop.

Note: Employees may be required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Pay: $62,328.57 per year
