What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Stabilization Specialist - QMHP position at Highlands Community Services (HCS)?
The Anchor provides a 24/7 facility-based crisis center for those experiencing a psychiatric/substance related mental health crisis. The center serves as an alternative to hospitalization and provides a safe space with open recliners or individual calm rooms for undergoing a severe impairment of functioning because of a precipitating situation or personal distress- in which the crisis is expected to be resolved within 23 hours.
Primary responsibilities include continuous observation and monitoring, crisis evaluation, brief intervention and de-escalation, referrals to wrap-around services, and coordination with supports.
Position Specifics
Location: Crisis Services Office - Abingdon, VA
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Sunday – Tuesday, 8:00am – 9:00pm
Compensation: $20.50 – Commensurate with education/experience.
Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 Retention Bonus!!!
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
Experience: One-year case management experience and registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Trainee required. Registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional and residential or crisis experience preferred.
