Job Title: Dental Assistant (Front & Back Office Float)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and dependable Dental Assistant to support both clinical (back office) and administrative (front office) operations. This role is designed for flexibility—assisting where needed throughout the day—while maintaining a clear focus on one area at a time to ensure efficiency and quality of care. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Back Office (Clinical Duties):

• Seat and prepare patients for treatment in a welcoming and professional manner
• Assist the dentist chairside during procedures
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment
• Set up and break down operatories efficiently
• Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols
• Manage and coordinate the operatory schedule to maximize patient flow and minimize team stress
• Keep treatment rooms fully stocked and organized

Front Office (Administrative Duties):

• Answer incoming calls in a friendly and professional manner
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments
• Process patient payments and assist with basic financial transactions
• Support front office team with daily administrative tasks
• Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and over the phone

Work Structure:

• This is a floating position between back and front office duties
• The assistant will focus on one area at a time and will not be expected to perform both roles simultaneously
• Responsibilities will shift throughout the day based on practice needs

Qualifications:

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Familiarity with dental software systems is a plus
