Highland Plastics runs a 5-day, 24-hour operation and is recruiting for our day shift, 8am to 4pm. This is a full-time position. We primarily make sheets and rolls of plastic for automotive customers, who then form it into car parts. Reporting to the Materials Manager and working alongside other Clerks you will primarily be responsible for picking and packing customer orders, as well as loading and unloading trucks, ensuring that all raw materials are stored in their designated storage areas, and maintaining an orderly warehouse environment. You will be asked to conduct inventory counts on a regular basis, as well as participate in the resolution of any inventory discrepancies that are identified.

This is a day shift, full time position. On rare occasions you may be asked to work extra hours, a weekend or a holiday day.

Essential skills and experience:

Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are essential. This role requires the ability to work productively amongst a small team or solo, with high responsibility.

Our business operations are maintained by an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Every item that comes into the warehouse will need a barcode and a label, and every item that is moved from one location to another will need that information logged in the ERP. All shipping and receiving functions happen within the ERP and Inventory discrepancies will need to be investigated by way of navigating through transaction and trace screens within this system. Prior experience with an ERP is preferred for this role.

You will also be expected to use a fork truck and occasionally a scissor lift safely. You will need to learn how to unload bulk shipments from railcars and bulk trucks. Strong interpersonal skills are essential because you will need to forge a great working relationship with the Inventory Team and Material Handlers in Production. Warehouse experience will be preferred, and positive energy will be a must.
