Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our warehouse team. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient movement of goods, accurate inventory management, and timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control, with proficiency in warehouse management systems and equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklift and pallet jack safely and efficiently
- Utilize scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain organized storage areas, stock shelves, and ensure proper product placement
- Manage inventory levels
- Perform basic math calculations for order quantities, weights, and measurements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper packaging procedures for shipping products
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving roles preferred
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems and scanners
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and order accuracy
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.) regularly and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments
- Knowledge of packaging standards for shipping products securely
- Cannot own or come into contact with birds or cattle
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
