As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you play a very important role in making sure our mission is fulfilled. The primary purpose of your position is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of your Nursing Services department.
Some of your very important responsibilities are as follows:
Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or the Director.
Make daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the Director.
Conduct wound round documentation to ensure proper staging treatment and evaluation of the same on a weekly basis.
Our Assistant Director of Nursing must fulfill the following requirements:
Possess a current license and registration as a Registered Nurse in New York State
A minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing in Long Term Care with managerial experience
