Wesley House Coordinator
This is a part-time position with administrative and relational responsibilities that works directly with the Director of College Ministry. This role is distinct from strictly administrative positions due to the consistently irregular hours (working nights, weekends, and overnight retreats) and the highly relational, student-facing nature through preaching, 1:1 connections, and leading bible study.
This position’s role is to assist in making the logistics of programming/events happen, while also functioning as a relational ministry asset. They will work to ensure that all church systems and calendars properly reflect Wesley House events while coordinating essential special events. This role will maintain and work closely with the Wesley House Director to ensure the aesthetic and vision are sought after and maintained. This role will have responsibility for weekly 1:1 relational ministry connections, preaching/curriculum development, and helping cultivate meaningful women’s ministry experiences. Lastly, this role will seek to engage with students in the house to build relationships, while managing all essential house duties to ensure Wesley House remains a safe, clean, and peaceful environment.

Working Hours: This is a part-time position working up to 24 hours per week
Anticipated Schedule: Mondays: 10 am – 12 pm, 1 pm – 3 pm; Tuesdays: 3:30pm -8:30pm; Wednesdays: 1 pm – 6 pm; Thursdays: 10 am – 12 pm, 1 pm – 7 pm; Sundays: 9 am – 11 am. Some hours are adjustable.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee programming and operations of Wesley House to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Assist in weekly 1:1 relational connections with students.
- Assist in curriculum development and preaching opportunities.
- Spearheads weekly bible study.
- Assist in the planning and execution of events both inside the house (Wesley House Party, Crepe Nights, etc), offsite (retreats, etc) and special events (Family Weekend, homecoming, back to school, etc).
- Spearhead mentor ministry that develops key leaders and matches them with students.
- Create times and spaces for students to show up and be vulnerable in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the Gospel, thus becoming more deeply devoted followers of Christ. (Prayer groups, small groups, worship nights, meetups, etc.)
- Manage college ministry calendar and serve as the lead for marketing & communication to students, including email newsletters, event planning and execution, and coordinating food, facilities, and volunteers for events.
- Manage Wesley House restock runs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Duties can be changed without advance notice as needed for the ministry.
Education and Desired Skills:
- Must be organized, personable, hospitable, welcoming, and outgoing.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of working experience without a bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Software Experience:
- Microsoft Office Suite; excel
- G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc…)
- Will need to learn HPUMC tools: e-space, touchpoint and arena, planning center, propresenter
- Adobe suite - design software a plus.
