Highland Ophthalmology Associates is a full service eyecare practice located in New Windsor, NY. Founded in 1997, we currently have 3 fellowship trained ophthalmologists, 2 optometrists, a full time optician, and an optical dispensary on premises. We have the most advanced ophthalmic equipment available and are committed to providing both the latest technology and highest quality in patient care. We are a high volume surgical practice, affiliated with multiple ASCs in our area.

Job Summary
The Surgery Scheduler schedules all surgical procedures and assures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance coding information is collected for the surgery schedule. Scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures and schedules the procedures according to established guidelines. Scheduler provides accurate information so that all departments may view daily, and maintains open communication with other departments and physicians regarding schedule changes.
Duties
1. Schedules surgery procedures.
2. Counsel and consent patients for various ophthalmic surgical procedures.
3. Answers the phones in a professional and courteous manner.
4. Completes surgical schedule and distributes as appropriate.
5. Assures appropriate coordination with ASC’s when special surgical needs occur.
6. Communicate with other physicians and offices to obtain necessary medical clearance in a timely fashion.
7. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-certification for surgical procures.
8. E-scribe medications for patients’ upcoming procedures.
9. Work with other departments as necessary to facilitate practice efficiency.
Salary: $18 - $22 per hour, commensurate with experience.
