Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Toolmaker role based in Manchester, CT. The Toolmaker will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and gauges to ensure seamless production processes. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, operating CNC machines, performing inspections on completed tools, and troubleshooting production equipment. The Toolmaker will collaborate with engineers, apprentices, and team members to deliver top-quality tooling solutions.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using precision machining tools such as CNC machines, lathes, mills, and grinders
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Experience in tool making, maintenance, and repair
- Strong quality control skills, including inspection, measurement tools, and attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of machining best practices
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work within a team environment
- Commitment to ongoing learning and continuous improvement; prior experience in an apprenticeship program is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred but not required
