We are looking for a skilled Toolroom Machinist to join our team in Barkhamsted, CT. This role involves creating, repairing, and customizing manufacturing tools, fixtures, and gages. Responsibilities
Create precision fixtures, tooling, and gages for production and inspection purposes.
Operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Read and interpret engineering drawings to plan machining operations.
Select materials and tools to achieve desired dimensions and finishes.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
Repair and modify existing tooling as needed.
Collaborate with other teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain equipment and follow safety procedures.
Assist with other machining tasks as required.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience in manual machining in a manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in operating manual machines and reading technical drawings.
Ability to work with close tolerances and precision tools.
Knowledge of machining practices, material properties, and tooling selection.
Strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a toolmaker apprenticeship or technical training in machining.
