Medical Assistant, Certified - (FT) Oncology

Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, provides initial patient intake and assists with direct patient care as assigned. Performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. Delivers direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Provider. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for continuous improvement. Practices quality service as evidenced through QI results and patient satisfaction. Maintains positive behavior, approach, attitude and commitment to interpersonal service. Serves as a role model for the organization’s 5-Star Customer Service initiative following established Behavior Based Standards. Consistently promotes teamwork and a collaborative culture. Responsible for abiding by and adhering to all HDH Corporate Compliance Program initiative and standards.

 

 

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program or have related experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting for primary care. Phlebotomy skills preferred or ability to complete. Current CPR certification or willingness to complete within orientation period. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate high ethical standards. Able to maintain self-control and function under pressure during emergency situations. Should be physically and emotionally able to handle irregular hours with minimal absences. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/lifting. Must have sufficient hearing and vision to carry out the nursing duties. Agility and ability to bend over, lift, reach, pull, and dexterity are also required.
