Job Description
The Collections Specialist is responsible for 150-250 open invoices/claims per month, which will fluctuate depending on the season. As the primary person responsible for “cash conversion”, the Collections Specialist will collaborate with the homeowner and advocate on their behalf to the carrier. Equally, as important, the Collections Specialist advocate must be a highly effective communicator, written and verbal, with a record of accomplishment in establishing respectful relationships at all levels internally and externally.
Qualifications
- 3 years collections experience REQUIRED
- Collections experience in the Restoration/Construction/Property Management REQUIRED
- Experience in collecting from insurance companies REQUIRED
- Experience with Xactimate PREFERRED
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software, Excel experience preferred
- Previous experience with Dash (R365) is a plus, but not required
- Dynamic personality, energy, professionalism, and integrity
Xactimate Expertise:
- Utilize Xactimate to review project estimates
- Work closely with the estimating team to resolve any discrepancies or changes in estimates.
Reporting and Documentation: - Use CRM to keep accurate records of all billing and collection activities.
Client Relations: - Maintain a professional and positive relationship with clients throughout the billing and collections process.
- Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
Responsibilities:
- Manage your queue daily and update all accounts scheduled for follow up.
- Advocate on behalf of the homeowner to the carrier.
- Provide backup phone support for overflow calls.
- Perform audits on files where the carrier has provided pushback/exclusions.
- Negotiate settlements with the adjusters within 30 days or less.
- Participate in the weekly AR meeting.
- Support emergency services phone after hours on a rotational basis.
