As Resident Care Coordinator, you’ll guide care and service across both the Manor and Cottage while supporting residents, families, and Care Partners with warmth, consistency, and respect.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Resident Care Coordinator oversees resident care and service across the community. You’ll lead Care Partners, maintain individualized service plans, coordinate communication with families and department leaders, and help ensure every resident receives thoughtful, consistent support in alignment with Highgate standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Oversee care and services for residents in both the Manor and Cottage.

• Create, update, and implement individualized service plans based on each resident’s needs, preferences, and life story.

• Participate in resident assessments and communicate changes in condition or care needs to families, physicians, and community leaders.

• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and coach Care Partners.

• Build Care Partner schedules, maintain appropriate staffing coverage, and respond to staffing needs.

• Provide hands-on training, in-services, and timely performance feedback to resident care team members.

• Maintain team member records related to attendance, training, performance, and counseling.

• Facilitate family meetings and serve as a responsive point of contact for resident and family concerns.

• Collaborate with department heads on clinical, dining, activity, environmental, and resident-care needs.

• Support Highgate programming, including aromatherapy, purposeful living, hydration, nutrition, and dementia-informed approaches.

• Monitor labor, overtime, and resident care supplies in alignment with budget expectations.

• Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and Highgate policies and procedures.

• Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately in accordance with applicable requirements.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

• Warm, person-first leadership style.

• Advanced understanding of dementia and resident-centered care.

• Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members.

• Strong organization, delegation, scheduling, and follow-through.

• Ability to coach team members and address performance concerns constructively.

• Sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills.

• Comfort working across departments and balancing multiple resident-care priorities.

RELATABLE EXPERIENCE

• Resident care leadership in assisted living or memory care.

• Caregiver, CNA, HCA, medication-assistance, or direct-care experience.

• Team supervision, scheduling, training, or performance management.

• Resident assessments, service planning, or family care conferences.

• Dementia support, aging services, home care, or long-term care.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active Washington State CNA or HCA credential in good standing.

• At least 21 years of age.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain required certification.

• Current TB test and ability to meet applicable background-screening requirements.

• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of dementia and experience supporting residents through the disease process.

• Strong communication, writing, computer, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to meet all state and local licensing requirements for the role.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and develop team members.

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday and lift or carry up to 50 pounds with assistance.

• Valid driver’s license when driving is required for an essential job function or legitimate business purpose.
