Caretaker

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker. This role involves working closely with an elderly woman in a private residence, who requires help with errands and chores. A nursing background is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to client, assisting with daily living activities and personal care needs.
• Mail collection from the Post Office.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for client, light housekeeping such as vacuuming, loading the dishwasher, managing trash and recycling.
• Trash removal, requiring occasional trips to the local waste transfer station (dump sticker will be provided).
• Grocery shopping, occasional trips to specialty stores.
• In winter months, clearing snow from the front steps as needed.
• Picking up prescriptions from the pharmacy.
• Transportation to and from doctor's appointments.
• Companionship and emotional support.
• Communicating with doctors and family.

Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively communicate with family members who are not local. We specifically ask that the Caretaker monitor and observe for changes in behavior or health status, reporting any concerns to the family.
• A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help a senior individual lead a fulfilling life.

In person interviews will be held between May 26 to June 5, 2025.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 10 per week
