Job Summary

The handyman is responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and renovation tasks to keep buildings, facilities, and equipment in proper working condition. This role requires versatility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Assemble and install furnishings, shelves, fixtures, and equipment.
• Repair and paint walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
• Perform carpentry tasks such as flooring, stair, and cabinet repairs.
• Maintain exterior areas, including minor landscaping, gutters, and sidewalks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests or service calls.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
• Manage and track supplies, tools, and repair materials.
• Collaborate with external contractors when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or in a similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Good physical stamina and dexterity.
• Excellent troubleshooting and time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for mobile roles).

Preferred Skills

• Basic HVAC maintenance knowledge.
• Minor appliance repair.
• Ability to read blueprints or technical diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions

• Work may be performed indoors and outdoors.
• May require lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and operating power tools.
• Hours may vary depending on service calls or project demands.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
