JOB SUMMARY
As a Budtender at Higher Ground, you will be the face of our dispensary, providing exceptional customer service and expert cannabis knowledge to our valued customers. Your role is to guide customer through their cannabis journey, offering personalized recommendations based on their preferences, needs, and experience level while ensuring compliance with California state regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greet and assist customer with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Educate customer on cannabis products, including strains, concentrates, edibles, topicals and accessories.
- Make recommendations based on customer’s needs.
- Answer questions regarding product potency, effects, usage methods and legal compliance.
- Stay updated on current cannabis trends, products, and industry acumen.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, checking expirations dates, and tracking products.
- Ensure the sales floor is well maintained and organization of displays maintain a clean and appealing dispensary environment.
- Adhere to all state and local cannabis regulations.
- Follow security protocols to ensure the safety of customers, employees and products.
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Handle cash and maintain proper cash drawer procedures.
- Work closely with other employees to create a positive work environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and performance.
- Stocking shelves, checking expiration dates and tracking products.
- Ensure sales floor is well maintained and organized.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, consumption methods and California cannabis regulations
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
- Must pass a background check as required by California law.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
The pay for this position is $18.00 per hour. The pay is the hourly rate plus tips.
SCHEDULE
This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consist of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekends shifts, including day, night and holiday work hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by air conditioning systems. Must be able to and able to stand for up to 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to lift to 25-50 pounds. Requires dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, vending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, management and team.
