Duties, Responsibilities And Requirements
- Responsible for planning, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems and/or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Ability to demonstrate a focus on safety, quality, customer service, and operations with honesty and integrity.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs at various heights to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Knowledge of conduit bending and installation, wire pulling, switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, switchboards, transformers, and motor control centers.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches, and moving and lifting heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to properly wear Personal Protective Equipment properly such as hardhats, boots, eye protection, and gloves.
- Ability to operate and control (2) handed tools/equipment such as but not limited to hand benders, cable cutters, compression tools, and other power tools.
- Ability to stay on their feet continuously for a 10-hour day excluding lunch.
- Ability to distinguish all colors of a color spectrum chart.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules and manufacturers operating and/or maintenance specifications as they relate to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and special equipment, building structures and finishes.
- Strong knowledge of the current National Electrical Code and skilled at interpreting and following the information contained.
- Ability to work independently in challenging environments while meeting demanding timelines.
- Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code.
- Maintains compliance with all OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all company policies.
- Immediately identify, correct, and/or report any unsafe acts, conditions or incidents.
- Bends and installs conduit.
- Installs lighting and basic control systems.
- Performs wire and cable pulls.
- Installs motor feeders and makes standard motor connections.
- Cleans and maintains jobsite, tools, and vehicles.
- Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, switchboards, transformers, and motor control centers.
- Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on project drawings, specifications, and National Electrical Code.
