Position Overview
High Tide Consultants, LLC (HTC) is seeking an experienced Project Civil Engineer / Project Manager with 10 years of experience in public works infrastructure (drainage, water, sewer, utilities) and/or commercial land development projects. This position is intended for a senior engineer ready to run projects independently, lead teams, and build lasting client relationships while playing a key role in the continued growth of our firm.
Schedule: Full-Time with some flexibility
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager and Engineer-of-Record (as applicable) for civil engineering projects throughout Southeast Louisiana
- Manage projects from conceptual planning through construction, including:
- Scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and staffing
- Design development, quality control, and internal coordination
- Regulatory agency coordination and permitting
- Construction administration, inspections, and project closeout
- Lead design efforts for projects involving:
- Stormwater drainage and detention systems
- Water distribution and sanitary sewer infrastructure
- Site grading, erosion control, and utility coordination
- Coordinate with parish and municipal agencies (DOTD, utilities, planning departments, fire marshal, etc.)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and public officials
- Mentor and oversee junior engineers, designers, and CAD staff
- Assist with proposals, fee development, and workload planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Louisiana Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
- 10 years of progressive experience in:
- Public works drainage and utility infrastructure, and/or
- Commercial / residential land development
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Louisiana design standards and permitting processes
- Stormwater management practices and utility design
- Construction administration and field coordination
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
