LOCATION: Galesburg-Augusta High School
The Summer School Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and academic success of the summer school program. This role ensures a structured, supportive learning environment by monitoring student progress, attendance, behavior, and overall engagement. The coordinator works closely with teachers, students, and families to promote student achievement and program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-up on absences
- Oversee student academic progress, including reviewing assignments, assessments, and overall performance
- Support and enforce student behavior expectations, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
- Coordinate and implement student success interventions for those needing additional academic or behavioral support
- Manage and review grading processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parent and guardian communication, providing updates on student progress and concerns
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to align instruction, expectations, and student support strategies
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure compliance with school or district policies
- Assist with scheduling, program logistics, and day-to-day operations as needed
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Effective communication with students, staff, and families
- Ability to analyze student data and implement targeted support strategies
- Classroom management and student engagement experience
- Proficiency with grading systems and attendance tracking in PowerSchool
- Knowledge of virtual programming
- Summer school experience preferred
HOURS:
Monday-Thursday 9:00-11:00am
June 8-June 26 & July 6-July 24
WAGES: Hourly
