Position Description: Half-Day Secondary PE Teacher

Reports To: Campus Principal
Position Summary:
The secondary half-day PE teacher is responsible in leading a dynamic and engaging PE program. The ideal candidate will foster a positive environment where students develop physical skills, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while building a strong foundation for lifelong fitness. This teacher will work with students delivering developmentally appropriate instruction that promotes both skill development and enjoyment of physical activity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver a comprehensive physical education program that promotes fitness, coordination, and motor skill development
- Teach daily PE classes
- Design developmentally appropriate lessons, with structure, focusing on foundational movement skills
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive environment that encourages participation from all students
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social interactions
- Promote healthy habits and an understanding of physical wellness
- Organize and manage equipment, facilities, and class routines effectively
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to support student development
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback on participation and skill growth
- Support and participate in school events, field days, and extracurricular activities as needed
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate accordance with Texas Education Code Chapter 21.

Salary and benefits are provided in accordance with the district compensation plan, board policy, and applicable Texas Education Code requirements.
