JV Coach = 0.12  $4,649.76

Froshmore coach = 0.10 = $3,874.80

 

REPORTS TO:    High School Principal and Activities Director

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Carry out the program planned by the head coach.
  • Perform delegated duties set forth by the head coach.
  • Incorporates and promotes a positive environment that promotes self-esteem, high values, and life-long learning in participants.
  • Maintains proactive plans and other applicable documents on file.
  • Monitors pre- and post-practices, games, and all trips.
  • Ensures the safety of the practice/game field and facilities.
  • Enforces rules and safety procedures of the program.
  • Adheres to guidelines set in the Activities Handbook and District policies.
  • Must keep up with changes to the Montana High School Association (MHSA) coach/advisor rules.
  • Must stay current with the NFHS/MHSA safety guidelines.

 

Only minimum duties are listed.  Other functions may be required as given or assigned.

 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some previous experience working with a successful high school level program.
  • Must have a coach’s certification in the Montana High School Association program on the first day of employment.
  • Member of the Montana Coaches Association.
  • First Aid/AED/CPR Certified
  • Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, parents, media and public.
  • Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels.
  • Skill in the use of technology to enhance instruction and communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Skill, dedication, and aptitude for working with students.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification upon employment.
  • Ability to meet, communicate, and monitor for high standards of safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of the techniques and skills required to participate in tennis.
  • Ability to properly apply first aid and emergency care procedures.

 

EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS USED:


A variety of electronic and technology devices, copier, telephone/voice mail, fax, camera, video recorder, etc.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outside in extreme weather and conditions.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be noisy, depending upon the task at hand.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time, sit, walk, stand; twist at neck, bend at waist; kneel; reach.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.  May be required to lift or move up to 35 pounds. 

 

MENTAL/MOTOR DEMANDS:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee often performs routine work.  The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another).  Guidance and reinforcement are usually unavailable.  The employee frequently works within time constraints and maintains attentiveness intensity.  The employee may be involved in interactions which require oral and written communications.

If hired, these requirements must be met before the first day of work:

1.  Fingerprinting - This district requires final candidates to pay for their own background check. Fingerprinting is done by appointment only; please call Karla Therrien at (406) 892-6550, ext. 1421. The cost is $30.00, payable by cash or check only, at the time of service.

2.  MMR immunization records – If born after December 31, 1956, you will need to provide proof of immunity (titer test) or medical records verifying that your Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccinations are up-to-date before the first day of work.

All employment offers are contingent upon providing complete MMR records, satisfactory results of the background check, and Board approval.
