QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and excellent academic credentials.
Certifications/ Licensure:
- Admission to the North Carolina State Bar, or eligibility and willingness to sit for the North Carolina Bar Examination.
Experience and Training:

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Significant practice experience (typically 5 years preferred) in the area of proposed focus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
This position provides a unique opportunity to design and direct a new, innovative law clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Clinic Development: Designing and implementing a new in-house clinic that provides high-quality legal services to clients while offering rich educational opportunities for law students.
Supervise Students : Mentoring and supervising student attorneys in direct, live-client representation, including case selection, litigation, negotiation, or policy advocacy.
Teach Seminar : Developing and teaching a seminar component that educates students by integrating substantive law with practical skills, ethics, and critical theory.
Foster Partnerships : Building and maintaining relationships with community partners, social service providers, medical professionals, and others to address systemic issues.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Performs all job responsibilities independently
- Reports directly to Dean.
