The Manager of Creative Projects in High Point University’s Office of Communications oversees the design, production, and distribution of HPU marketing materials. This role collaborates with university departments to define project needs and manages all phases of the creative process, from concept and design through print production and final delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, or related field required
Experience and Training
- Professional experience in strategic communication, publishing or marketing
- Minimum 6 months - Project management experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Project management of design, print and mailing of HPU marketing materials (working directly with departments on project needs and then managing those projects internally with graphic designers and print production manager; managing full project from start to completion including proofing content/edits from departments).
- Creation and coordination of project timelines with the overall production schedule as well as monitoring the progression of the timelines to keep projects on schedule (working with print production manager to develop timeline and with AVP for Creative Projects to coordinate those timelines with existing production schedule).
- Effectively prioritize and manage projects of various complexity. Know and understand the scope, details and status throughout the life of a project and communicate that information to relevant parties (work with a cross-functional team as the central organizer and facilitator of information to ensure a project keeps moving).
- Forecasts future project needs based on historical data and strategically plans to meet them.
- Manages the administrative setup required to establish projects within our system. Follow established process and maintain overall project overview for internal project meetings and updates.
- Strategic marketing (working with others to conduct communication audits and develop marketing plans as needed).
- Trains student workers in the company workflow and procedures, introduce clear goals to evaluate their performance, and offer more guidance when improvement is needed.
- Keeps an organized catalog of all completed projects ensuring ease of reference by the entire team for future use.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Responsible for preparing and managing timelines for admissions, and other departments on campus
