Position Summary

High Performance Alloys, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and maintaining machining equipment, reading technical drawings, and producing high-quality components to precise specifications. This position plays a critical role in supporting our commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor waterjet cutting equipment to cut metal alloys and other materials according to work orders, drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
• Review job travelers, work orders, blueprints, drawings, and cutting instructions to determine required material, dimensions, tolerances, and cutting sequence.
• Load, position, and secure raw material onto the waterjet cutting table using appropriate material-handling equipment and safe lifting practices.
• Set up the waterjet machine, including selecting appropriate cutting programs, nozzles, abrasive settings, pressure, speed, and other machine parameters based on the material and job requirements.
• Verify material identification, thickness, dimensions, and quantity before beginning production.
• Operate the waterjet safely and efficiently while monitoring machine operation for proper cutting performance and potential issues.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using appropriate measuring tools and equipment to ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances.
• Make necessary machine adjustments within established procedures to maintain quality and production requirements.
• Identify and report defective material, equipment problems, dimensional discrepancies, or other quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or quality personnel.
• Safely remove completed parts from the cutting table and perform required finishing, deburring, cleaning, sorting, labeling, or other post-cutting operations.
• Accurately identify and maintain traceability of materials and finished parts throughout the production process.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, scrap, and material usage records as required.
• Perform routine operator-level maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping of the waterjet and surrounding work area in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting machine or cutting issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, machine-specific procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements when applicable.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized to do so.
• Assist with material handling, inventory, packaging, and other production activities as needed.
• Work cooperatively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared to work at the scheduled start time.
• Participate in training and cross-training opportunities as assigned.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous machining experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Experience using precision measuring tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, climb, kneel, and work in various positions around manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and finished parts within applicable company safety guidelines.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments accurately.
• Ability to work around water, abrasive materials, noise, metal products, and other typical manufacturing conditions while using required PPE.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints/drawings, measurements, and written safety procedures.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving dimensions, measurements, quantities, and tolerances.
• Ability to safely operate machinery and material-handling equipment after appropriate training and authorization.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
