What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Designer - Women's Activewear position at High Life LLC?
The Associate Designer will work closely with the Designer and support the Design team in the development and execution of women’s activewear for a leading brand. They will play a vital role in creating stylish and functional activewear for our customers. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the performance apparel space to join our growing team!
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Design team to develop and execute seasonal concepts and styling that align with the brand vison and market trends
- Conduct market, trend, and shopping research to integrate new styling ideas with a point of view
- Support an assortment of styles within your category, working closely with senior team members through development and production
- Create detailed sketches on Illustrator that are understandable for buyers and factories
- Build/Generate tech packs for sampling, costing, and production purposes on PLM
- Manage cads and linesheets with all updates for color, graphic, and fabric details
- Attend fittings and help evaluate fit samples for design details
- Effectively communicate and partner cross-functional teams such as Graphic Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Sales, Production, and Ecommerce throughout design processes
- Maintain keen attention to detail throughout the product development and production processes using problem solving skills
- Communication with overseas sample room for meeting line sampling
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in fashion industry
- Strong creative eye, attention to detail, and understanding of women’s active market
- Knowledge of apparel styles, garment construction, and fabric
- Strong organization, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
- Sense of urgency and accountability with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Excel, Word, and the Mac platform
- PLM experience a plus (Centric preferred)
Annual salary range is starting at $60,000
