Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and equipment inspections to prevent future failures.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including refrigerant line repairs and drainage issues.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair electrical components and mechanical parts of HVAC units.
- Diagnose complex problems involving ammonia refrigeration systems or HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes during all installation and repair activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems with a solid understanding of mechanical principles.
- Strong construction knowledge related to building systems installation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and property maintenance procedures.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively for electrical troubleshooting.
- Mechanical skills including welding, equipment repair, boiler servicing, and appliance repair are highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
drivers preferred for transportation needs. - Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems or HVAC/R certifications is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently in the field during service calls.
