High Gear Automotive is a family-owned automotive repair center with an immediate opening for a skilled, experienced, and dedicated automotive technician to be a part of our team!
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics. Experienced automotive technicians will need to have a minimum of 10 years experience on the line. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing and maintaining vehicles in accordance with industry and brand standards. Repair orders will be performed with efficiency and accuracy. Communicating clearly with the shop manager regarding parts and vehicles is a must. Looking for a problem solver with good analytical skills.
Monday thru Friday 8:00 - 5:00 (No Weekends)

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics. The Automotive Technician will work with various power tools and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles, including GM models.
Job Overview and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct repairs on electrical systems, ensuring all components function properly.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Utilize power tools safely and effectively for various repair tasks.
- Keep accurate records of services performed on each vehicle for future reference.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the shop.
In addition to repairs and maintenance, your job duties will include:
- Mentor and train junior technicians, requiring patience and the ability to explain complex concepts.
- Ability to direct a team of junior technicians.
- Ability to supervise team members, delegate tasks, issue feedback, evaluate risk and resolve conflict.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic with a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Proficiency in working with power tools and automotive diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with diesel engine repair is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems is essential.
- Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment.
- Certification from an accredited automotive program is desirable but not required.
