Produce Team Member
High Falls Food Co-op | Part-Time | Reports to Produce Manager
Our Produce Team makes fresh, local, and organic fruits and vegetables shine. As a Produce Team Member, you’ll work in a fast-paced, hands-on role that combines physical activity, teamwork, and friendly customer service. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys staying active, working with food, and helping our community make healthy choices. OPEN AVAILABILITY PREFERRED, WEEKENDS A MUST.
What You’ll Do
- Receive, stock, rotate, and display fresh produce daily.
- Trim, wash, and bundle produce for attractive presentation.
- Maintain accurate signage and pricing.
- Keep prep and storage areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Monitor cooler and walk-in temps, report equipment issues.
- Dispose of damaged/spoiled goods promptly.
- Provide friendly, helpful service to all customers—answering questions, offering samples, and sharing product knowledge.
- Support departmental goals and cover manager shifts when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in wet, cold conditions.
- Manual dexterity with knives and other equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Willingness to learn about produce, natural foods, and co-op values.
- Prior retail or produce experience preferred, but not required.
