Experienced After-School Program Leader
$17–$20/hour | High Altitude Kids | Eden, Utah
Are you an experienced teacher, paraprofessional, childcare professional, coach, or recreation leader who loves kids — but doesn’t necessarily want a traditional full-time position?
High Altitude Kids is looking for an experienced, confident Program Leader to take ownership of our elementary-age after-school program.
This is not an entry-level childcare position. We are specifically looking for someone who already has experience confidently managing groups of children and can step into a leadership role without extensive training.
Our goal is for after-school to feel like the best part of a child’s day. Kids have been sitting in school — now they get to move, play outside, use our tumbling gym, create, build friendships and decompress.
We need someone who can make that happen.
We would love to meet you if you:
- Have several years of experience working with children
- Have experience independently managing groups of elementary-age kids
- Are warm, playful and genuinely enjoy being with children
- Can confidently set limits and manage behavior
- Take initiative and notice what needs to happen
- Can plan simple, engaging activities and keep an afternoon moving
- Are dependable, organized and comfortable being the person in charge
Experience as a teacher, paraprofessional, substitute teacher, childcare lead, recreation/camp leader, coach or experienced nanny would all translate beautifully to this position.
Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: approximately 2:45–6:00 PM
Wednesday: approximately 12:00–6:00 PM
Pay
$17–$20/hour, depending on experience
We are happy to pay at the top of the range for someone who brings strong previous experience and can confidently take ownership of the program.
This could be an especially great fit for a former educator, experienced paraprofessional, substitute teacher, or someone returning to work who wants meaningful part-time work while keeping mornings free.
