What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaper / Crew Lead position at Higgins Properties?
Overview
We are looking for an experienced landscaper who has knowledge of plants, grass, pruning, and proper landscape maintenance and can manage a crew's time and daily workload efficiently.
Duties:
- Lead a small landscaping crew
- Plan the day's work and make sure jobs are completed efficiently
- Properly identify and care for common landscape plants
- Know the appropriate mowing height for different types of grass and the proper time of year to mow
- Know pruning techniques of different types of plants and shrubs
- Perform edging, trimming, blowing, weed control, and general property cleanup
- Prune trees, shrubs, hedges, and ornamental plants properly
- Recognize plant problems, weeds, pests, and signs of disease
- Know proper seasonal landscaping practices
- Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew
- Make sure equipment and tools are properly maintained and cared for
- Speak with tenants in a professional manner
- Ability to communicate daily with property owner with schedule/checklist updates
- Communicate any property or landscaping issues that need attention
- Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a professional appearance
Must be knowledgeable and comfortable operating, driving, and safely working with all types of landscaping equipment, including commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, chainsaws, and other power equipment.
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
