Engineering Maintenance Manager
HiFyve is hiring for an Engineering Maintenance Manager in the Middletown, Ohio area within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Estimated Salary: $130,000 to $180,000 annually, depending on experience
Position Overview
This position will lead the site maintenance department and be responsible for improving equipment reliability, plant safety, maintenance performance, and team development. The Maintenance Manager will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, maintenance planning and scheduling, capital projects, contractors, equipment records, and the annual maintenance budget.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can build a strong maintenance organization while balancing immediate plant needs with long-term reliability improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage the plant maintenance team
- Build and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
- Establish and track maintenance metrics, including OEE and wrench time
- Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, work orders, and documentation
- Champion the effective use of the computerized maintenance management system
- Lead root cause failure analysis and corrective-action efforts
- Develop maintenance procedures, job plans, and lockout/tagout documentation
- Maintain equipment records, drawings, and mechanical integrity documentation
- Manage the annual maintenance and repair budget
- Identify and recommend capital projects that improve reliability or reduce maintenance costs
- Plan and execute maintenance-related capital projects
- Ensure contractors are qualified, properly documented, and working safely
- Oversee third-party storeroom performance and parts inventory support
- Establish training and competency requirements for maintenance personnel
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
- Partner with Production, EHS, Engineering, Planning, Project Engineering, and outside contractors
- Support regulatory, environmental, quality, and Responsible Care requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering required
- At least 10 years of industrial experience
- Chemical manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Previous maintenance leadership or project management experience
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting maintenance and reliability issues in a plant environment
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Experience with root cause failure analysis
- Capital project planning and execution experience
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and evaluating project costs
- Strong supervisory skills, including employee development, performance management, and accountability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance immediate repairs with long-term plant needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Maintenance, reliability, or project management certification is a plus
This is a safety-sensitive position and requires compliance with routine testing, medical monitoring, and respirator fit-testing requirements.
