HiFyve is hiring a 5-Axis CNC Machinist (Fanuc Controls) in the aerospace manufacturing industry in Wichita!
Shifts Available:
- Mon–Thurs: 5:00am – 5:30pm (1st shift)
- Mon–Thurs: 5:00pm – 5:30am (2nd shift)
- Fri–Sun: 5:00am – 5:30pm (Weekend shift)
- Shift differential available for 2nd and weekend shifts
Pay: $22–$28/hr (Based on Experience)
We are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist to machine large aerospace components to tight customer specifications. This role is ideal for someone with strong Fanuc-controlled machining experience, attention to detail, and a background in precision manufacturing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Machine large aerospace parts to exact customer specifications
- Set up, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on CNC machines
- Operate and adjust basic and advanced machine tools for precision machining operations
- Work with Fanuc-controlled 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
- Utilize vacuum fixtures and skins for complex setups
- Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and step-by-step machining procedures
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and other inspection instruments
- Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Input and retrieve CNC programs and set machine controls for proper machining operations
- Maintain quality standards and ensure finished parts meet aerospace tolerances
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years operating Fanuc-controlled CNC machines (3 & 5 axis required)
- Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with gantry-style machining preferred
- Hands-on experience with vacuum fixtures/skins (required)
- Quickmill and/or Mag3 experience preferred but not required
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions
- Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, etc.)
- Strong understanding of machining setups and tooling alignment
- Familiarity with 5S manufacturing practices
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork skills
- Excellent attendance and positive work attitude required
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be a U.S. citizen or current green card holder
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Journeyman or equivalent machining experience strongly preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Full-time onsite manufacturing environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; up to 75–150 lbs occasionally with assistance
- Manual dexterity required for machine operation and tooling adjustments
- Exposure to industrial noise levels (hearing protection required)
- Must be able to wear required PPE at all times
- Overtime may be required with or without notice
