Executive Chef Justin Moser spent three years training under Chef Grant Achatz at the world-renowned 3 Michelin Star restaurant Alinea in Chicago. Together, our culinary and beverage teams are committed to creating one of the most unique dining experiences in Utah.

Position Overview

Hide & Seek is seeking an experienced Mixologist / Bartender to join our hospitality team.

This role is responsible for executing our cocktail program, delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining bar operations, preparing ingredients and garnishes, and contributing to the ongoing evolution of our beverage program.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a team dedicated to culinary and beverage excellence while contributing to one of Utah's most ambitious hospitality concepts.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities may be available depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Deliver exceptional hospitality and guest service throughout every shift.
  • Engage guests confidently and professionally while creating memorable experiences.
  • Guide guests through cocktail, wine, beer, and spirit selections.
  • Educate guests on ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage pairings.
  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.

Cocktail Production & Service

  • Prepare cocktails consistently according to company specifications.
  • Execute specialty cocktails with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain quality and presentation standards for all beverages.
  • Ensure timely service during high-volume periods.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, wine, beer, and cocktail techniques.
  • Maintain consistency across all beverage offerings.

Beverage Preparation & Development

  • Prepare house-made syrups, infusions, tinctures, shrubs, and specialty ingredients.
  • Juice fresh ingredients and maintain beverage prep standards.
  • Create and prepare garnishes according to specifications.
  • Assist leadership in beverage development, testing, and menu improvements.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, cocktail techniques, and emerging beverage concepts.
  • Contribute ideas that improve the guest experience and beverage program.

Bar Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar environment.
  • Follow opening, service, and closing procedures consistently.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs.
  • Properly stock, rotate, label, and store products.
  • Ensure bar stations remain fully stocked throughout service.
  • Assist with inventory counts and product management.
  • Help create and maintain operational systems, checklists, and procedures.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all alcohol service laws and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations and food safety standards.
  • Maintain sanitation standards throughout the bar area.
  • Verify identification and follow responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of ingredients and products.

Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house and back-of-house team members.
  • Support fellow employees during busy periods.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.
  • Accept coaching and feedback professionally.
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist teammates whenever necessary to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending or mixology experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant or hospitality experience.
  • Strong understanding of cocktail preparation techniques and beverage service.
  • Excellent communication and guest interaction skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred

  • Fine dining, craft cocktail, or upscale hospitality experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail history.
  • Food Handler Certification.
  • Experience with cocktail development and menu creation.
  • Experience with Toast POS systems.
  • Wine knowledge and pairing experience.
