Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to manage all aspects of the medical billing and revenue cycle for our ABA therapy services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ABA billing practices, insurance verification, authorizations and claims processing.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Submission: Prepare, review, and submit claims to various insurance payers using CentralReach, in a timely and accurate manner.
Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor A/R aging reports, identify denied claims, and perform necessary re-billings or appeals to ensure maximum reimbursement.
Insurance Verification & Authorization: Verify client insurance eligibility and benefits, and obtain necessary service authorizations and re-authorizations prior to service delivery.
Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Accurately post electronic and manual insurance and patient payments to client accounts and reconcile payment discrepancies.
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and compliance requirements (HIPAA, etc.) and generate regular reports on billing metrics for management.
Client Communication: Respond to client billing inquiries and resolve billing issues professionally and promptly.
Credentialing Support: Assist with the credentialing and re-credentialing process for the agency and providers with various insurance networks.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in ABA medical billing.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, RCM processes, and major insurance payer policies.
Skills: Proficient in CentralReach, or other medical billing software.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
