Job Summary:
As a Construction Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment at construction sites by implementing safety policies, monitoring compliance, and minimizing risks. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site workers to promote a strong safety culture and ensure all activities meet regulatory and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and monitor construction site safety programs and policies
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Perform risk assessments and recommend preventive measures to minimize accidents
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all workers
- Conduct safety training sessions and awareness programs for site staff
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety is integrated into all construction activities
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and compliance reports
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international safety standards
- Support emergency response planning and drills on-site
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA or local safety codes)
- Strong understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques
- Familiarity with safety management systems and reporting tools
- Excellent observation and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to enforce safety protocols
- Certification in safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus
