Electrical Estimator (Commercial Construction)
Hicks Lightning Protection is a nationwide leader in lightning protection and electrical grounding systems for commercial and industrial construction projects. We design and install systems that protect buildings from lightning strikes and electrical faults, supporting high-profile projects including data centers, airports, schools, government facilities, and industrial developments across the United States.
With offices in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Virginia, Hicks Lightning Protection continues to grow and is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team in Ponder, Texas.

Location: Ponder, TX (DFW Area)
Compensation: Starting at $75,000 annually, based on experience
Responsibilities
• Review commercial construction plans and specifications
• Prepare accurate proposals for lightning protection and grounding systems
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze project requirements
• Communicate project scope, exclusions, and pricing with customers
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams throughout the estimating process
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation and records
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to pass a background check and drug & alcohol screening
Preferred Qualifications
• Electrical estimating experience
• Lightning protection estimating experience
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs from construction drawings
• Experience with Bluebeam
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Construction Management degree preferred
Education
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred
