What are the responsibilities and job description for the ARLINGTON LOADER position at Hickman's Family Farms?
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting both dry storage and/or refrigerated warehouse operations. This role may include managing inventory, receiving and storing raw materials, and loading/unloading finished products in a cooler environment. Responsibilities vary based on business needs and may involve working in dry storage, cold storage, or both. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in varying temperatures while following all GMP and SOP guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Communicate with front office staff regarding incoming loads and material needs
- Receive, verify, and accurately record all incoming and outgoing materials and products
- Load and unload trailers, including inspecting trailers and verifying temperatures when required
- Maintain accurate inventory through counts, cycle counts, and proper documentation
- Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures to ensure proper product rotation
- Operate scanners and ERP systems (e.g., NAVISION) for product tracking and bin movements
- Complete daily paperwork for inventory, loading, and unloading activities
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and cooler environments
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently
- Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs promptly
- Follow all company GMP, SOP, and safety requirements
Requirements and Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Safety-conscious with the ability to follow all safety protocols
- Ability to operate or become certified on forklifts and pallet jacks
- Basic math skills and ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift)
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working in varying environments, including dry warehouse conditions and refrigerated areas (40°F and below)
