Commercial Roofing & Sheet Metal Edge Estimator
Location: Tulsa, OK Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing & Sheet Metal Edge Estimator to join our team in Tulsa, OK. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, high-volume estimates for commercial roofing edge metal, architectural sheet metal, and wall panel systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience in new construction, remedial metal work, standing seam systems, and wall panel applications, and can confidently interpret plans, specifications, and project documents to develop complete bids.
This position requires collaboration with General Contractors, Architects, and internal teams during preconstruction and design phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates for commercial roofing edge metal and architectural sheet metal scopes
- Perform detailed takeoffs by reviewing plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Estimate projects including:
- New construction roofing and metal scopes
- Re-roof and remedial metal projects
- Architectural wall panel and façade systems
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Develop budgets and pricing for projects ranging from small scopes to multi-million-dollar work
- Coordinate with GCs, architects, vendors, and internal operations teams to clarify scope and pricing
- Maintain current labor, material, and subcontractor pricing databases
- Assist with value engineering and design development as needed
Required Experience & Technical Knowledge
- Commercial roofing and edge metal estimating experience
- Strong background in new construction projects
- Experience estimating standing seam and architectural metal roofing systems
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation practices
- Experience with remedial/retrofit metal scopes
- Estimating and takeoffs for architectural wall panel systems, including:
- Single-skin panels
- Soffit panels
- IMP panels
- ACM panels
- Steel plate panels
- Specialty architectural panels (including wood grain finishes)
- Understanding of associated components: girts, hat channels, framing systems, insulation, louvers, and screen walls
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, shop drawings, and specifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Roofing, Sheet Metal, or Edge Estimator
- Strong technical knowledge of roofing and architectural metal systems
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working directly with GCs, architects, and vendors
