Position Overview – We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the day-to-day operations on complex commercial and industrial projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing all site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff.

Key Responsibilities –

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout. 
• Lead daily coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain productivity and ensure quality.
• Implement and enforce safety programs and site-specific safety requirements, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules, coordinating with project management to align field activities with overall project goals.
• Conduct daily and weekly site meetings.
• Proactively identify and resolve field issues, RFIs, and conflicts to maintain the project schedule.
• Review plans and specs, ensuring construction consistency with contract documents.
• Maintain and record accurate site documentation, including logs, daily reports, and inspection reports.
• Support project management with cost control, change order documentation, and schedule updates.
• Mentor and provide leadership to field staff, laborers, carpenters, and foreman.

Qualifications –

• 15 years of progressive experience as a Superintendent on commercial, industrial, or design-build projects.
• Carpenter by trade.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large commercial projects with multiple subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and state/local safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Determine causes and develop remedies when costs are not in line with budget.
• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to be insured by the company.

Preferred Qualifications –

• Tilt-up concrete, PEMB, and industrial facility coordination.
• Experience with phased projects in occupied facilities.
• Familiarity with design-build delivery and close coordination with architects.
• Take an active role in identifying and recruiting top industry talent to join the HHJ team.
