Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily construction activities
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Help manage schedules and deadlines, adjusting plans as needed to meet project milestones
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure work is completed per contract requirements
- Assist with material procurement, inventory tracking, and timely delivery to the jobsite
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and address issues promptly
- Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel
- Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical or design challenges
- Maintain accurate records including daily reports, workforce documentation, and project costs
- Support preparation of progress reports for clients and internal leadership
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress and challenges
- Assist with problem-solving and conflict resolution among crews and trade partners
- Ensure construction work aligns with project specifications and contract documents
- Support project commissioning and handover upon completion
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction management or a related field
- Commercial Construction experience is strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of construction practices, techniques, tools, equipment, and materials
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and inspection compliance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders (e.g., contractors, architects, engineers)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Fit to Work / OSHA 30 certification
