What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Office Manager (BOM) position at HG Careers?
We are seeking a highly proficient and trustworthy Business Office Manager to take the helm of the facility’s financial operations.
Salary: 79,040-83,200
Your Mission:
The Business Office Manager (BOM) will be the central figure for all financial, administrative, and clerical functions of the facility. You will be entrusted with the integrity of the revenue cycle, from admission to final collection, and will serve as a key liaison for residents and families on financial matters. Your leadership will ensure the business office operates with precision, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the entire patient accounting process, including admissions contracts, billing for Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private pay, accounts receivable, collections, and cash posting.
- Financial Leadership: Manage the business office team, providing training, guidance, and oversight. Prepare and analyze key financial reports for the Administrator and corporate office.
- Compliance & Integrity: Ensure all business office practices strictly adhere to federal, state, and company-specific regulations and ethical standards. Serve as a key point of contact for financial audits.
- Resident & Family Relations: Act as the primary contact for residents and their representatives regarding financial inquiries, billing explanations, and payment arrangements. Handle these sensitive discussions with professionalism and empathy.
- Payroll & Accounts Payable: Supervise or directly manage the facility’s payroll processing and accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Utilize the facility's software systems (e.g., PointClickCare, Matrix) efficiently and proactively identify opportunities to streamline office procedures and enhance financial performance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Office Manager in a Skilled Nursing Facility or similar healthcare setting (LTACH, Hospital).
- Expert-level knowledge of the Skilled Nursing Facility revenue cycle, including Medicare A & B, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Third-Party billing requirements.
- Proven proficiency with healthcare financial software (experience with PointClickCare is a significant plus).
- Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising an administrative team.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- High integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and corporate stakeholders.
Why Consider This Confidential Role?
- Inherit a Stable Operation: Step into a well-organized business office with established systems and a strong team—not a turnaround situation.
- Strategic Impact: Play a critical role in the facility's financial health and have a direct voice in administrative leadership.
- Autonomy & Trust: Enjoy significant responsibility and the autonomy to manage your department, backed by a supportive administrative team.
- Competitive Compensation: A attractive compensation package, including a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, will be offered to the selected candidate.
