Under the direction of the Campus Director, the Director of Milieu Services will assist in planning and managing operations and staff at Southeast Campus in Plymouth, MA. 

How You'll Be Making a Difference

  • Fully own all elements of milieu-based programming within the campus including the 24/7 functioning of all programs. Work with clinical leadership to ensure that the milieu programming is therapeutic in nature and that the youth’s developmental and clinical needs are being met through the programming provided.
  • Assist the Campus Director to assess, develop, and implement program services appropriate to needs of youths and their families. Coordinate and integrate services. Plan and improve services according to youth and family needs.
  • Supervise Milieu Directors, Campus Coordinator, Activity Coordinator, Permanency Coordinator, and Direct Care Supervisors and indirectly their staff. Ensure guidance and feedback for employee development and productivity by documenting supervision and maintaining a supervision binder as a model for other supervising professionals within your program.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation, recognition and improvement plans, as appropriate. Participate in the selection and termination of program staff. Promote a positive and involved work environment.
  • Assist in the review, implementation and enforcement of program policies and procedures, including program evaluation standards and procedures as well as implementing actions required by Quality Assurance and Utilization Review
  • Spend a significant amount of time in the milieu each week in order to support milieu leadership in coaching, teaching and training staff to the highest standards an ensuring the program is providing the highest quality of care.
  • Help to foster a work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement. Promote quality programs, effective communication, positive outcomes for youths and employee commitment.
  • Independently connect with supportive departments to navigate complex issues as they arise for staff and youth.
  • Oversee the service, education and treatment plans of youths and their families. Interact with appropriate agency personnel to ensure quality youth services.  Coordinate work assignments, manage youth behaviors, participate in crisis prevention and intervention for groups and individuals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of annual operation budget for the program.  Monitor performance against approved budget allocations and investigate variances.
  • In the absence of the Program Director, represent the program/The Home at internal and external meetings.  Maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, community agencies, state and local agencies, program employees, youths and families.
  • Manage operational tasks such as campus petty cash, reconciling campus P-Cards, ensuring clothing checks are completed quarterly, purchase supplies to ensure that all programs have ample supply of hygiene products and activities.
  • Participate in the intake and discharge process. Maintain the program census.
  • May participate in the licensing and accreditation process to ensure compliance with state regulations. Oversee notifications and paperwork for the Department of Children and Families, Department of Early Education and Care and other relevant agencies. 
  • Review critical incident reports for quality. Develop and prepare various reports as required, such as the monthly program update. Provide feedback to staff and the agency.
  • May be required to carry a mobile device, participate in program ‘on-call’ and be available to support the milieu in a crisis or emergency.

 Qualifications

  • Five years of program experience, including supervision
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications

Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, and internal equity relative to other employees in similar roles. Candidates with less directly related experience may be placed toward the lower end of the range, while those with extensive or specialized experience may be placed toward the higher end. Market conditions and budget considerations may also influence final pay decisions.
