Duties And Responsibilities
- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Lead representative for the Company on the project.
- Responsible for all correspondence and project status updates for management, clients and project team.
- Leads, hires, trains and manages performance of project staff to ensure that assigned duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with the Company’s core values and Contract Requirements.
- Works with project staff to solve any problems that may arise during project execution; takes appropriate action to mitigate impacts resulting from changes in conditions.
- Monitor costs, estimates and budget of the project.
- Develop project schedules, work plans, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Ensures that project activities, quality, productivity, and safety standards meet or exceed Company guidelines, Contract Requirements, and government regulations.
- Leads meetings with project staff, clients, third party stakeholders and JV partners to communicate information related to project requirements.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 8 years of rail construction and maintenance management experience.
- Thorough knowledge of construction industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of advanced project accounting, project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills and has the ability to build a team and motivate employees.
- Track record of successfully executing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong client relationships, influencing and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; proficiency with Procore and other construction computer programs a plus.
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
