Role Description
We are seeking a seasoned Bankruptcy Paralegal with demonstrated proficiency in Chapters 7 and 13, as well as related pre- and post-filing workflows. The ideal candidate is operationally disciplined, highly organized, and able to support attorneys in a fast-moving, metrics-driven environment. This role plays a critical function in delivering a seamless client experience while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and district-specific bankruptcy requirements.
What you'll Do
- Drive end-to-end case support for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, including petition preparation, schedules, SOFAs, means test documentation, and case updates.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain, track, and validate required financial and supporting documents.
- Draft routine pleadings, notices, letters, and forms with precision and adherence to jurisdictional standards.
- Manage attorney calendars, hearing dates, deadlines, and internal workflows.
- Maintain comprehensive and timely CRM documentation to support transparency, auditing, and attorney supervision.
- Serve as the first-line quality control checkpoint for all documents before attorney review.
- Support 341 meeting preparation, including exhibits, trustee requests, and client coaching.
- Monitor docket activity, update task queues, and escalate time-sensitive items to the supervising attorney.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with pre-file, post-file, IRS, and debt-settlement teams as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of paralegal experience, with substantive bankruptcy exposure.
- Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 procedural requirements.
- Strong command of bankruptcy software, case management tools, and digital file systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a high-volume workload environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain a professional, client-focused demeanor.
