Job Summary
This is a position with room for advancement! We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server/Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced environment for 11am - 5pm shifts and 5-11pm shifts (mid shifts also exist). This position will continue into fall and is for both the Northampton and Amherst locations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for customer service and a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. This role involves providing excellent service to our customers while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Provide detailed information about menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards by sanitizing work areas and equipment regularly.
- Handle cash and credit transactions, ensuring accuracy in processing payments
- Assist in suggestive selling for menu items to enhance the customer experience.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, kitchen, and cashier station.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff when needed.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a café or grocery store setting, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Familiarity with retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A culinary background or interest in food preparation is a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
