Information on the division:
Located in Strongsville, the 90 employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.
As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.
With a strong focus on latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Summary:
The Grit Blast Operator will mask parts and operate high-pressured equipment to prepare surfaces using materials, tools, and fixtures for the process of electro-plating Aerospace parts.
Main responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces using blast equipment utilizing knowledge of the materials, tools, and fixtures used in the process.
- Clean and prepare parts according to provided work instructions.
- “Mask” parts to tolerance.
- Load blaster tank as needed with abrasive materials by manually lifting bags of grit and pouring contents into machines.
- Operate abrasive blasting gun to “rough” and prepare the surface of parts for the electro-plating process.
- Operate ceiling lift, fork lift, and other provided tools to move heavy parts.
- Assist the electro-plating department as needed.
- Utilize and maintain all personal protective equipment (PPE) in performance of assigned duties and tasks.
- Complete all documentation is completed as required.
Our ideal candidate:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent and trade school, vocational education, or apprenticeship.
- 2-4 years of experience in work-related environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing sketches.
- Ability to read inspection tools and have knowledge of Quality Control, gauges, and micrometers.
- Good physical condition. Able to lift heavy loads.
