Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing questions and offering product recommendations
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
- Manage cash handling duties with precision, including counting cash, giving change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining store cleanliness
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
Qualifications
- Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
