Landscape Construction Production Manager

Hermes Landscaping is a nationally recognized, award-winning, progressive company that has proudly served the Kansas City metro for over 60 years. What we need now is a Landscape Construction Production Manager with strong commercial landscape industry experience, ready to lead production operations, build strong teams, and execute high-quality landscape construction projects.

The Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing day-to-day production within our commercial division. You will lead multiple production crews across large commercial landscape construction projects while coordinating equipment, materials, scheduling, and field operations. You’ll work directly with general contractors, foremen, vendors, and company leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and profitably.

This role requires someone who understands landscape construction from the ground up—including plant material, installation practices, irrigation, site conditions, and the standards required to deliver high-quality commercial landscapes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Production & Scheduling

• Oversee commercial field workers and daily production activities
• Manage schedules, manpower, and equipment across active projects
• Ensure work is completed on time and to company standards

Budgets & Resources

• Manage labor budgets and crew efficiency
• Track inventories, tools, and materials
• Support purchasing and vendor coordination

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop foremen, crew leaders, and field staff
• Build accountability and a high-performance culture

Quality & Performance

• Monitor job progress, productivity, and costs
• Solve problems quickly and improve field operations
• Enforce safety and quality expectations

Customer & GC Experience

• Represent the company professionally on jobsites
• Communicate effectively with GCs, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients
• Help maintain strong relationships through execution and reliability

Who We’re Looking For

This role is best suited for someone who is wired to lead, organize, and get things done—and who already knows the commercial landscape construction industry.

You might be:

• A Production Manager with commercial landscape construction experience ready for a bigger opportunity
• A Landscape Construction Foreman or Superintendent ready to step into broader leadership

Experience

• 5–7 years of project, production, or operations management experience within the landscape construction industry
• Strong understanding of landscape construction, field production, and jobsite operations
• Strong plant identification and plant material knowledge, including trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and other commonly used landscape materials
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, planting plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Working knowledge of proper planting, soil preparation, grading, irrigation, and landscape installation practices
• Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously
• Ability to analyze job costs, labor efficiency, and budgets
