Resident Assistant - 1st Shift

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Assistant for the first shift to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support and care to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure resident health status
• Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
• Provide companionship and social engagement to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition according to individual dietary needs
• Utilize manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts to safely transfer residents
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
• Respond promptly to resident calls or emergencies, including implementing first aid or CPR when necessary
• Support residents with dementia or memory care needs through behavior management strategies
• Document care activities accurately in EMR systems and communicate effectively with team members about resident status

Requirements

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and geriatrics is essential
• Experience assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts
• Certifications in CPR, first aid, and medication administration are required or must be obtained upon hire
• Strong understanding of long-term care practices, behavioral management, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Excellent communication skills with a caring attitude towards residents and team members
• Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities is a plus but not mandatory
• Commitment to providing compassionate resident support in a lively, energetic manner

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
