Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Pediatric Gastroenterology team in the Brentwood-Cool Springs area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric patient care, clinical procedures, and medical administrative support. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for facilitating smooth clinic operations, supporting diagnostic procedures, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatric gastroenterologists with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
• Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and adherence to safety protocols.
• Support clinical procedures including specimen collection and assisting with procedures as needed.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilization processes, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized in compliance with safety standards.
• Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and demonstrating empathy throughout the visit.

Requirements

• Proven experience supporting pediatric or outpatient clinical environments.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Possess a Degree, Diploma or Certificate of Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant training program (or accredited nursing program) or have a minimum of 1-year prior experience functioning as a Medical Assistant in a clinic/hospital setting, or completion of Medical Assistant type training in the armed services.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• If working as a float will need Valid TN Driver’s License and Proof of Valid Automotive Insurance;
• Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and scheduling purposes; proficiency in managing intake processes and recording vital signs accurately.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy outpatient clinic environment.

Pay: $18.50 - $26.00 per hour
