Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Pediatric Gastroenterology team in the Brentwood-Cool Springs area. Responsibilities
- Assist pediatric gastroenterologists with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and adherence to safety protocols.
- Support clinical procedures including specimen collection and assisting with procedures as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilization processes, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized in compliance with safety standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and demonstrating empathy throughout the visit.
Requirements
- Proven experience supporting pediatric or outpatient clinical environments.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Possess a Degree, Diploma or Certificate of Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant training program (or accredited nursing program) or have a minimum of 1-year prior experience functioning as a Medical Assistant in a clinic/hospital setting, or completion of Medical Assistant type training in the armed services.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- If working as a float will need Valid TN Driver’s License and Proof of Valid Automotive Insurance;
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and scheduling purposes; proficiency in managing intake processes and recording vital signs accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy outpatient clinic environment.
